I started losing bits of plug really early from my third pregnancy onwards. My 3rd was born at 38 weeks and my 4th was born at 34 weeks. If the blood is 'old' looking and not heavy I dont think its a huge concern. It is when you had actual fresh blood that is key to an issue.
