The screws would still go in, but the knob wouldn't function correctly. I solved it by using a bastard file to take a little material off of the door where those post pass through. KwikSet lock binds when screws are tight. I have run into this problem several times. Even on new lock sets. When the screws are tightened (and not overly tight, just snug) the door knob binds and wont return to normal position after opening.
