Hi all, As the title suggests, I'm curious about the quality of life of a community Heme/Onc physician. I'm currently deciding between a hybrid community vs academic job. When I discuss the community job with attendings, they act like 4d/week in community is the end of the world and unsustainable.Current USA *medical* heme/onc (HO) fellow here. I'll make a note that you can take care of a lot of oncology patients (not heme) via other specialties: radiation oncology, surgical oncology, dermatology, the various surgical subspecialties, etc. so worth thinking about. I'll focus on the clinical side of things.Someone can correct me if I'm wrong about this. That being said, I'm not sure what cards/GI/heme-onc salaries are like exactly compared to hospitalist salaries. Median salaries are like $280k right now.
