I returned to house after scavanging and noticed a zombo inside my room, and then a few more inside. I remember I had barricaded all windows, but after killing them I noticed the living room window was broken. The problem that i'm going to guess is, since you barricaded from the inside you can't properly click the planks. Try to right click different place on the plank or barricade it once on the outside and try to remove it from the inside to see if it removes the inside plank first. 2.I have a hammer , more than enough nails and plank on me, and i have already barricaded 2 windows on the building but i can't seem to put up planks on either the door or the 3 remaining windows. Make sure that if you have a box of nails that you select "unpack" and break it into 100 individual nails before trying to barricade. Alternatively, climbing up and then down a sheet rope again (or into and out of a car) fixed the problem for me. IIRC there are some types of hammers that can't be used for this.

Nope, you can barricade doors/windows even with hammer/planks/nails in a bag/backpack/whatever. The character will authomatically put them in their inventory and then proceed to barricade. Each wood plank you have up will give you 1k protection so if you have four on each side it's a total of 8k.
