Hey, current Emory student here. What I’ve noticed is Emory tends to admit those who have done compelling volunteering work. They love seeing people give back to the community in all sorts of ways and how it impacted you. But from what I heard, they admitted a few more this year than they have in prior years.

I think Emory does a much better job at treating grad students well compared to most universities (especially large public ones). The treatment varies by program, but since Emory has SO many grad level programs, grad students are as big if not a bigger priority than undergrad students.
