The cog railway is a fantastic trip up to the summit of Pikes Peak. Beautiful scenery! Hopefully the tracks will be clear so you can do it. Luckily the tracks were clear of snow, and we made it up to the top. Unfortunately, there was 8 feet of snow on the ground, and the crew had to shovel their way into the gift shop.

Oct 11, 2016 · The ticket machine at the entrance issues tickets, exactly the same as the rest of Budapest public transport, as the cog wheel is run by the same company. A very steep running tram with a unique gear wheel powering it up the hill to a fair height. It ends about 5 mins from the children's railway. The railway is literally 200 meters away from where the cruise ship will dock, assuming there's only one ship in for the day. We pre-made reservations before we arrived and picked up our tickets at the tourist information building, just right outside of the railway. we boarded the train and there was plenty of seating. The views were spectacular!Save. For those interested, we sat on the left as the train we were in (not sure if they are all the same) had seats for 3 on the left and only 2 on the right. I really thought views were great (but yes slightly different) on both sides.
