Combined IM/anesthesia is a dumb idea and a waste of time. It may improve your knowledge, but it does not improve your chances of getting a job. It is impractical. You will end up practicing one or the other. If you try to be both a PCP and an anesthesiologist, you will just end up being mediocre at both.
