A card that was in the camera already and working should be fine. The firmware will allow the camera to use an SDHC card but it can't read one yet. Most cards with less than 2Gb will be just SD cards. The instructions say greater than 8Mb but lots of people have not seen cards rated in Mb and use an 8Gb card which is SDHC.
