My monitor was showing that the planter was stopping for a second and i think it was the clutch mechanism slipping. I am wondering if I could have possibly over greased it or if its just worn out. I only have about 25 acres of corn to finish ... Just my 2 cents, the 1780 is not my favorite bar, when folded it is heavy on the draw bar, when turning on the ends the planter will pick up the weight on the draw bar making it difficult to make turns, will take front wheel assit to pull. I've seen the problem worse on Deere's 1780 style planter with the longer hitch on the 6/11 or 8/15 planters causing more side pressure on turns. I've always welded the units with no long term problems. The max emerge XP cast shanks first used in 2004 don't have this problem.
