Ram 2500 stuck in 4th gear.

It will go in neutral and reverse but not in drive. It is stuck in 4th gear in the auto stick mode. It happened while at a stop light. It only carries about 60% of the input torque in 4th gear (it carries 100% in 5th and 6th), so if it neutrals out in 4th, that is unusual. That is, if your clutch is going south, usually it will first start slipping in 5th and 6th (where it carries more torque).

Transmission was flaring between 3rd and 4th gears with delayed garage shifts. Replaced PCM, Torque converter, Pump Assy, cluthes (the 4 cluthes were not burnt, but did have metal grit stuck in the friction material) Installed new clutch and 4C clutch retainer was melted to the reverse flush cooler. In order to fully release the tension keeping it in gear or get the gears to mesh going in, you want to be moving 1-3 mph in either direction when ever you shift in or out.
