Been using Tradovate for about 2 years now. If it’s lagging make sure you are directly connected to a router, no wireless, and make sure your pc has a good cpu and graphics card. As I said I don't use Tradovate, but basic data in CQG data in Ninjatrader is $12 a month, and it provides the main CME instruments, among many others. Either way, you are paying for market data. I suppose similar to the way that Samsung or Apple make phones, but the don't work without a carrier connection, which have separate contracts and fees.
