Using the switch, the sunshade fully retracted, then I opened the moonroof with the switch, and it went fully up, (nearly a 1 1/2") opening. Now it won't close, and the sunshade will only close half way forward. I have verified that the fuses, F80, and F37 are both good.

Try a soft reset by holding the sync power button and forward seek >> buttons together for 10 seconds or so to see if it reboots. The BCM will turn off the low beam lamp if it's not drawing enough current, hence the reason the CANBUS friendly units that draw more power or have built in load resistors to keep the BCM happy.
