It is a 4 cylinder 16v turbo so not sure how much similaritites they share. How ever I believe cosworth used some aspects of design from the BDA in the Mercedes engine.

The 190e 2.6 has a bolt in cross member and would be a far easier proposition given it's designed for an M103 from the outset. Personally I'd keep it original and preserve its value and originality.
