Jul 23, 2015 · Pros. CVA .50 Caliber Optima V2 in Stainless Steel/Realtree Green with a Konus Pro Scope – in the stand. After shooting the CVA Optima V2 rifle at the range and in the field here is what I like: Light weight at just over 6.5 Lb, especially for a black powder rifle. Even with 26″ fluted barrel it feels relatively compact. The break open latching on the Wolf is located on the front of the trigger guard. It tends to snag on things causing it to open while hunting. The Optima is on the back of the guard and haven’t had any problems whatsoever. I now own an Accura MR Nitride. Non corrosive, I can shoot many rounds between a full cleaning with no issues.
