Solution: you are not having the pet/thrall use the food, you are using it for yourself but from their inventory so the food item must be something the player character can eat/consume. It doesn't matter what food you put in their inventory, so long as it's food you yourself can eat.

Okay this one took a few tries to figure out, but basically you have to use the god tool to harvest a body until it turns into a loot bag. Not just once for your token, but two/three times. Tried putting in plant fibre and it will not complete. I already had spice in the grinder which I thought may be the cause of the issue (I’ve seen something similar with other journey steps).
