Yeah it’s more tax efficient to have the bonds in a tax advantaged account but really the yield isn’t all that much anyway. For VBTLX it’s only 40 basis points more yield than VTSAX so it’s not blindingly huge difference. This unfortunately includes a lot of major stocks. Wow. That's a big leap from a valuation model, which happens to be one of many, to stocks that don't pay dividends are speculative. You can value non-dividend stocks with a different model, like DCF.
