A proprane torch will hit 1000-2000c; A welder hits 3000-5000c depending on the type. Welding doors shut sure would be neat, but it ain't happening with a propane torch quick enough to save you from the zeds, let alone a xenomorph!

The Blowtorch is a repurposed metalworking tool. It has an abysmal range of about 3 meters, with 30 total charges to expend on whatever happens to be within melee range that you want to set on fire instead of murder. Bad weapon choice, great tool to troll with.
