I was really on the fence about doing this, the car only has 18,000kms and the emissions warranty is (or was) good until 2023.The only reason the DPFs fail at such an early mileage count is because of the diesel-gate fix. So now I as the customer am on the hook for BS emissions requirements from California and a company that lied. US emissions requirements are BS for the most part especially for someone like me that lives in the middle of nowhere.

The improvement from Stage 2 tunes comes from the exhaust change. Stage 2 (IIRC) disables the regen process if you get the emissions delete. No regens mean less fuel wasted, and there are a lot less restrictions so the setup breaths better as well. And re: the old Jetta's getting better MPG, those were running 90~100 HP and 149~155 TQ.
